What is ECDL?
The European Computer Driving License is a European-wide qualification that is designed to enable the holder to demonstrate their competence in computer skills. Candidates study 7 or 8 modules covering a full range of IT skills. Each module is tested separately and all modules must be completed before an ECDL certificate will be awarded.
- Module 1 Concepts of Information Technology
- Module 2 Using the computer and managing files
- Module 3 Word Processing
- Module 4 Spreadsheets
- Module 5 Database
- Module 6 Presentations
- Module 7 Information and Communication
- Module 8/E Using IT
Pass Modules 1-7 inclusive and you will achieve a level 1 ECDL
Pass Modules 1-7 + Module 8/E and you will achieve a level 2 ECDL
ECDL Advanced
For the more advanced user the British Computer Society offers 4 ECDL Advanced Modules.
